Dancin' With Nobody But You Babe is the 1969 debut album by singer/songwriter Clarence Reid. Reid wrote or co-wrote tons of pop and soul/R&B songs in the 1970's, including Betty Wright's "Clean Up Woman" and "Let Me Be Your Lovemaker", Vicki Anderson's "Don't Throw Your Love In The Garbage Can", and Gwen McCrae's "Rockin' Chair" but for some audiences, he is infamously known as the horny and filthy costumed singer known as Blowfly. Before he became known as Blowfly, he was signed to Atco Records in an attempt to be a popular soul vocalist. It failed, and chose to do things in the background, both as a songwriter and as the pussy loving superhero. This album shows slight hints of the humor he already had, especially the album closer, "Send Me Back My Money." It also includes a tasteful cover of The Beatles' "Get Back", for Reid knew the advantages of covering a fab four song and publishing. This CD was released in Japan on 27 October, 1999.

Lloyd Cole's second solo album, 1991's Don't Get Weird on Me, Babe, was about a half-decade ahead of its time. If it had come out in 1996, after Richard Davies' Cardinal project, the High Llamas' Gideon Gaye, and the new belief in indie circles that Pet Sounds and Burt Bacharach were musical icons worthy of veneration, this would have slotted right in. In the year bracketed by My Bloody Valentine's Loveless and Nirvana's Nevermind, Don't Get Weird on Me, Babe (title courtesy of Raymond Carver) was considered a self-indulgent oddity. In retrospect, however, it's clearly one of Lloyd Cole's finest works. The album is divided into two distinct parts…
