The Greatest Hits, So Far mines the singles PiL released through 1990. Ten years after its release, it was doubtful that a second volume would surface (the '90s saw one lone studio release, not to mention a John Lydon "solo" record), so thankfully Lydon didn't embarrass himself by titling it "The Greatest Hits, Volume One." That said, not many outfits under the guise of one name can boast a collection of singles so diverse and ranging in quality…

2002 reissue of the ex-Megadeth guitarist's 1990 solo debut, updated with two songs performed by Chris' band OHM. Bonus Tracks are '30 Day Due' & 'The Heavy Guitar Jam'. Remixed & Remastered. Return To Metalopolis 2002 is stunning example of heavy metal guitar instrumental work by ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland, along with his brother, drummer Mark Poland. Poland, who played guitar on the Megadeth albums "Killing Is My Business…" and "Peace Sells…", recorded these tracks in 1989-90 and played all bass and guitar parts himself. Return To Metalopolis 2002 features the crunch you'd expect from Poland, especially on tracks such as "Club Ded", "The Fall Of Babylon" and the heavy title cut.

Having built up both their reputation and their increasing musical range over earlier releases, the members of KMFDM brought it all together on the brilliant Naive, one of industrial/electronic body music's key albums and a great blast of entertainment from start to finish. The self-referential qualities evident from earlier songs like "More and Faster" came to the fore with the brief "Welcome," literally doing just that for new listeners, and from there KMFDM does everything from four-to-the-floor beats to Wagnerian epic metal and back again.

The first release done on BlackNote Records, with Kofi Baker (son of the famed Ginger Baker from Cream) on the drum throne. This record was a combination of new and old, as the liner notes suggest. Much light and darkness in the lives of all those concerned, reflected in the colors of the music. “Tara”, and “Tattoo” were long part of the OHM set. “Spun” inspired by a movie, “Joog” a tongue-in-cheek title from some of our Armenian fans, “Williams'” by a friend, “Rooms of Telemetry” by a tragic loss in the family.

On Confessions of a Knife, Groovie Mann and company mix up a healthy dose of funky and organic instrumentation to create industrial music that's more extreme disco than house. A pulsing bass guitar propels the 1990 release, adding a rhythmic and textural depth to the group's sample- and synth-laden sound. Highlight tracks include "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan (Acid and Flowers Mix)" and "The Days of Swine and Roses." Each of the disc's first six cuts possess a fine balance of nihilistic intensity and structural finesse. The momentum fades as "Rivers of Blood, Years of Darkness," a below-average remix of "Kooler Than Jesus," and "Burning Out" languish in a repetitiveness that the record fails to break out of.
