Its evident from hearing the jazz big band works of composer, arranger, conductor and trombonist Henry Wolking’s debut album on Big Round Records, IN SEA, that he effectively mixes complexity with simplicity in his jazz harmonies and colorful orchestrations that make for an exciting and memorable listening experience. The inspired solo work of band members and guest artists add to the sincere and fresh cosmopolitan character of the recording.

Carolyn's music elicits emotions of well being, satisfaction, gratitude, comfort, and affection.. her latest album "By The Sea" continues to add to her legacy.. the album is perfect for quiet moments (by a fire, leisurely drive) of reflection on a great day, week, event, holiday, life… as with all great music, it can go many ways with the listener - and so, a word of caution is in order - listen with care, if feeling at all melancholy.. my fave and most meaningful track is currently the title song, but such is the artistry of the whole album, I expect each piece will eventually take it's turn at the top of my fave list..

Over three thousand years ago, legend has it that Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt's first female pharaoh, sent a fleet of ships to the wonderful, distant land of Punt. A bas-relief in the temple where she is entombed in Luxor shows them bringing back extraordinary treasures. But did this expedition really happen? And if it did, where exactly is the land of Punt?
