Richard Edwards (then frontman of Margot & the Nuclear So and So's) was diagnosed with a potentially fatal stomach ailment, lost 50 pounds, was to forced to abandoned a sold out tour, and spent the next couple years recovering and writing a record about absence. With his marriage also ending he moved into a basement, underwent surgery on his abdomen, and re-wrote the record about absence. The result is Edwards' first effort post-Margot "Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset". Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Cass McCombs, Beck) the album brings together friends, both old and new, for a sound that may be familiar to some fans of his former band, but more rightly a step into new territory. "I hope it sounds like being lost in an ocean", says Edwards.

"Portrait of the Artist as a Young Ram" is the second and final album by the band Ram Jam in 1978. Re-released in 2006 on Rock Candy Records. A new strain of heavy metal music is summoned forth on Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Ram, as the band raises the volume to deathly destructive decibels and peels off chain after chain of flashy riffs captained by speed and purpose. Intimidating vocals, booming with hunger, coupled with a ferocious energy skirting on the edge of punk, further lock the material tight.

For The Love Of You – it is fourth album by Candy Dulfer. It was released in October 1997. Candy Dulfer looks perfectly angelic on the cover of her album. But her deeper musical dimensions are decidedly masculine. Once she starts to blow, Dulfer is as aggressive, gritty, and boisterous as her primary alto inspirations, David Sanborn and Maceo Parker. She also invokes the groove intensive rock-soul flavors of Prince, who enlisted Dulfer to play on numerous projects in the early ‘90s (when he was still Prince) after she played on the road with Pink Floyd - hardly a pastel-and-angora kind of pedigree.

From Wikipedia: Candy Dulfer (born 19 September 1969) is a Dutch smooth jazz alto saxophonist. She started to play saxophone at the age of six. She has had her own band, Funky Stuff, since she was fourteen. Her debut album Saxuality (1990) received a Grammy Award nomination. Over the years she released nine studio albums, two live albums, and one compilation album. She has performed and recorded songs with several other musicians, such as her father Hans Dulfer, Prince, Dave Stewart, René Froger, Van Morrison, and Maceo Parker. For the Dutch television series Candy meets... (2007), she interviewed musicians she worked with. Dulfer's debut album, Saxuality, was released later in 1990. With her funky alto sax stylings proving popular with fans of contemporary jazz at several recently launched smooth jazz radio stations in the United States, Saxuality was nominated for a Grammy and certified gold for worldwide sales in excess of half a million. "Lily Was Here" also crossed over to the pop charts in America, reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Though Dulfer has had no other pop hits in the U.S., she has had a number of major smooth jazz chart hits, including "For The Love Of You" and "Finsbury Park, Cafe 67". Dulfer was also the featured saxophonist for Van Morrison's A Night in San Francisco, an album made from live recordings in 1993. Dulfer collaborated with her father Hans Dulfer on the duet album Dulfer Dulfer (2001). In 2007, she released her ninth studio album Candy Store. The album reached a #2 position in Billboard's Top Contemporary Jazz charts. Of the album Candy Store, the song "L.A. Citylights"reached a #1 position in Smooth Jazz National Airplay charts in the United States.

Dressed in a white jumpsuit, legs crossed, sandy blond hair perfectly coiffed, and sitting in a comfy tan chair with her trusty alto sax, Candy Dulfer looks perfectly angelic on the cover of her third album, For the Love of You. Some of the goofy shots on the inside sleeve cast her in the more mischievous light of her almost lookalike Jenny McCarthy, but the overall packaging — and that dazzling smile — caresses the eyes with femininity. But her deeper musical dimensions are decidedly masculine. Once she starts to blow, Dulfer is as aggressive, gritty, and boisterous as her primary alto inspirations, David Sanborn and Maceo Parker. She also invokes the groove intensive rock-soul flavors of Prince, who enlisted Dulfer to play on numerous projects in the early '90s (when he was still Prince) after she played on the road with Pink Floyd — hardly a pastel-and-angora kind of pedigree. Anyone who dug Saxuality and its buoyant 1993 follow-up, Sax-A-Go-Go, knows Dulfer enters the party ready to cut loose, and won't be disappointed by the buoyant goings-on here. From the frisky jam "Saxy Mood" (on which Dulfer treats her horn as a percussive instrument) to the hypnotic, heavily looped invitation to "Gititon," For the Love of You is a big-hearted, festive affair, complete with vocal effects that simulate background conversations.

Yield is the fifth studio album by the American alternative rock band Pearl Jam, released on February 3, 1998. Following a short promotional tour for its previous album, No Code (1996), Pearl Jam recorded Yield throughout 1997 at Studio Litho and Studio X in Seattle, Washington. The album was proclaimed as a return to the band's early, straightforward rock sound, and marked a more collaborative effort from the band as opposed to relying heavily on frontman Eddie Vedder to compose the songs. The lyrics deal with contemplative themes, albeit seen in a more positive manner compared to the band's earlier work.
