Contemporary Chilean Architecture has experienced a great development over the last few years. It is characterized by its vanguard and innovative design, enabling distinct and diverse formal approaches to construction, which not only respond to new materials but also to technological and structural development, creating works strongly anchored into both cultural and geographical context. The AOA (Asociación de Oficinas de Arquitectura - Architectural Offices Association) was born in 1998 with 60 associated offices, which nows reunites over 900 architects from 160 offices, including the most renowned practices in the country. The AOA, trough its associates, has a large experience, technical capacity and project development in different areas and scales. The buildings designed by its members add up to the 70% of the projected built surface in the last 5 years in Chile, 35.000.000 sqm.
