In this volume Ann Lee Bressler offers the first cultural history of American Universalism and its central teaching – the idea that an all-good and all-powerful God saves all souls. Although Universalists have commonly been lumped together with Unitarians as "liberal religionists," in its origins their movement was, in fact, quite different from that of the better-known religious liberals.

Lee Ann Womack, one of the most distinctive and decorated vocalists in modern music, will make her debut for ATO Records with the release of 'The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone,' an album that mixes the country, soul, gospel and blues of her native East Texas, into an audacious, sharp-edged work of art.

Taking a break from the frenzied pace of his late 60s songwriting work, Hazlewood recorded this collection of country-tinged and Hollywood-soaked songs about both the sweetness and loss of love. The duo perform cuts such as "Dark End of the Street" and "Only Mama That'll Walk the Line" in their own utterly inimitable style only natural for two personalities as inimitable as Lee and Ann-Margret. In addition, Lee performs Tom Rush's "No Regrets" solo, taking a cold, hard look at the aftermath of love gone wrong, in typical Hazlewood fashion.

This LP comprises one of altoist Lee Konitz's greatest sessions. In 1967 he recorded a series of very diverse duets, all of which succeed on their own terms. Konitz is matched with valve trombonist Marshall Brown on a delightful version of "Struttin' with Some Barbecue" and matches wits with the tenor of Joe Henderson on "You Don't Know What Love Is." He plays "Checkerboard" with pianist Dick Katz, "Erb" with guitarist Jim Hall, "Tickle Toe" with the tenor of Richie Kamuca (Konitz switches to tenor on that cut), and an adventurous and fairly free "Duplexity" with violinist Ray Nance. Konitz also has three different duets in five versions of "Alone Together" and, on "Alphanumeric," welcomes practically everyone back for a final blowout. The music ranges from Dixieland to bop and free, and is consistently fascinating.

Alvin’s blistering performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 is considered by many as the pinnacle of his career. The eleven-minute number ‘I’m Going Home’ was to become Ten Years After’s signature song and was prominently featured in the Woodstock movie released the following year. However, feeling increasingly confined within the band’s musical style, Alvin was soon looking for new challenges to express his creative versatility. For his first project, he recorded the studio album ‘On The Road To Freedom’ with gospel singer Mylon LeFevre. Shortly after (in response to a dare by a friend) he assembled a nine-piece band for a one-off performance at London’s legendary Rainbow Theatre on March 22, 1974.
