A Musical Generator is a program that creates music and MIDI files from fractals, pictures, text and numbers. Lots of fractals can be used and each fractal can be adjusted in infinite ways to create weird, crazy or beautiful music. Also you can turn bitmaps into music. You can use the names of yourself and your friend to see whether they sound good together. And you can insert your tax figures, model results, spread sheets or whatever numeric source in order to create music. There are over 50 musical scales which give you the opportunity to have the same music sources sound medieval, classical, Chinese or modern and you can add your own scales.

A Musical Generator generates music from fractals, text, pictures and numbers. A Musical Generator takes all kind of objects in your computer and turns these into music. Take a picture from your desktop and convert it into music Take the name of you and your friend and let them sound together. But why not take your tax figures from a spreadsheet and look whether they sound as music to you. When they sound bad, maybe you should have a better look at the figures. What it all boils down to is take information from almost everywhere from your computer and turn it into music. That’s why I call it a Musical Generator; it generates music from almost everything you offer it.

Jazz / Afro-Cuban Jazz / Bop / Bossa Nova / Trumpet

This edition presents, for the first time ever on CD, Dizzy Gillespie's complete performance at the 1961 Monterey Jazz Festival. While humorously introduced by Diz as “A Musical Safari”, the set is a mixture of the repertoire the quintet was playing during that period, including an excursion into the realm of bossa nova. The quintet features the wonderful Leo Wright and Argentinean pianist Lalo Schifrin, as well as singer Joe Carroll on one track.

Take a visual and audio trip through the rainforest with Merl Saunders and special friend Jerry Garcia on this exclusive DVD presentation. This album is probably not the best representation of Merl Saunders, whose instrument of choice was the Hammond B-3 organ, but it’s a terrific album worth revisiting, and an album whose creator is worth remembering.
