When he awakens to find Kumiko alive and well, Tokio's forced to question what's real and what isn't. Written and directed by Naoki Ichio, this atmospheric drama is a surrealist meditation on the slow death of a failed marriage.

Sky Architect’s A Dying Man's Hymn is modern trip into psychedelic music. It is complete with extended jams, long songs, keyboards, and meandering instrumentals. Many of these qualities might give the impression that this album lacks focus. However, Sky Architect is able to pull these elements together (with a few others thrown into the mix), and create a truly captivating album.

Trouble Man is a hard-driving blues-rock album, with more emphasis on the "rock" than Thackery's other releases. It slows down just long enough for the slightly dark "Lovin' You Right" and the jazzy "Anchor to a Drowning Man," arguably the best cut here. "Doin' 100" and the instrumental "Hang Up and Drive" have a strong Stevie Ray Vaughan sound. Thackery applies a steady, yet light-hearted and uptempo pace to William Harris' "Bullfrog," which has also been covered by the likes of Dave Hole and John Hammond. The K.C. Douglas cover "Mercury Blues" has been recorded by everyone from Steve Miller to Alan Jackson (remember the "Crazy 'bout a Ford truck" commercials?), but this is one of the best versions…

Released in May 1982, Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch marks Frank Zappa's entrance into the 1980s. From this point on, his rock records would focus on single, simple rock songs (the previous year's You Are What You Is had them organized in interconnecting suites) with occasionally more complex instrumental numbers. The recipe would be extended to The Man From Utopia (1983) and Them or Us (1984). Side one features three studio songs that would never be performed on stage.
