The five disc Ultimate Collection: 60s Classics box rounds up 100 genre spanning hits from the explosive decade, with highlights arriving via iconic cuts from the likes of Jimmy Ruffin ("What Becomes of the Broken Hearted"), Percy Sledge ("When a Man Loves a Woman"), the Walker Brothers ("The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)"), and the Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin").
Time Life's AM Gold '60s series provides a highly enjoyable history lesson. Each year is represented by songs drawn from a wide range of sources, features all very big hits all the time and plays like an hour of true golden oldies radio. As usual with the series, you'll get a pretty good idea of what was going on in the charts from this disc and would be hard-pressed to find a better single-disc collection of hits from the year.
This program comes with a tablature lesson book to help you follow along with confidence and ease. You will learn: all the scales you need to play blues (blues scale, minor pentatonic, major pentatonic); blues lead techniques (bends, vibrato, hammer-ons, pull-offs); blues turn arounds; rhythms with bass and drum backing tracks; classic blues; blues shuffle; jazz blues; and more!
A trawl through the wonderful career of the hugely underrated Harry Nilsson takes a chronological look at his back catalogue. Pretty much every classic you would ever need is here - Everybody's Talkin', Me and My Arrow, Without Her, Without You, One… the list goes on. Naturally there is a concentration on Harry's most successful work Nilsson Schmilsson with all but one track of the entire album included. There are some delightful hidden classics too with hard to find tracks included, but perhaps too little concentration on his later career. Nevertheless, this is a superb retrospective.
Relive the flower power era with Ultimate… 60s a 4CD collection containing 80 classic hits from the 60s, includes tracks by Elvis, The Ronnettes, Simon & Garfunkel and many more!
Move beyond power chords and pentatonics and open up your musical universe! Kiko Loureiro's roots in Brazilian, Latin, Fusion, Jazz, Metal and Classical music influence his masterful compositions and stlye.
