Your Hit Parade – was a 41-volume series issued by Time-Life during the late 1980s and early 1990s, spotlighting popular music from the pre-rock era years of 1940-1954, and non-rock and roll songs from 1955 through mid-1960s.
Much like Time-Life's other series chronicling popular music, volumes in the "Your Hit Parade" series covered a specific time period, including single years in some volumes and stylistic trends in others.

Creating an appealing post-modern rockabilly sound for the Camden Town crowd may seem like a challenge, but the London-based siblings Kitty, Daisy, and Lewis Durham make it appear effortless. For their latest album, The Third, which is exclusively streaming below, the trio molded a nostalgia-soaked menagerie of tunes with country, jazz, blues, and straight rock- 'n'-roll melodies. The mod album opener, "Whenever You See Me," provides a punchy, riot grrrl-esque ode to female empowerment; "Good Looking Woman" evokes the '50s era Ray Charles songbook; and the horn-heavy "Turkish Delight" is infused with equal parts ska and jazz.

Hear the words “classical music” and what comes to mind? Somber images of suits and symphony halls, or perhaps your grandparents’ old LPs? If you think a classical performance is too formal or dull, then you owe it to yourself to check out Nova Era. Based in Orlando, Nova Era is breathing new life into classical music with a modern approach. Much more than an attempt at Mozart: Plugged-In, Nova Era’s updated arrangements bring out the timeless appeal of classics such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Pachelbel’s Canon.

A totally excellent bit of funk from Chico Hamilton – working with a great group that more than helps their leader live up to the album's title! The record's a real lost gem – and it's got Chico working in much funkier territory than before, grooving with complicated rhythms, and a heavy sound that features lots of work on organ and guitar. Lowell George (of Little Feat fame) is playing slide guitar in the group, giving the sound a great, muddy propellant – which only gets stronger with the help of Simon Nava and Sam Clayton on congas, plus heavy organ and piano by Stu Garner, Jerry Aiello and Bill Payne. Includes the killer Latin groover "Conquistadores 74", plus "Stu", "Feels Good", "Fancy", "Stacy", Gengis" and "I Can Hear The Grass Grow".
