In this 3-DVD set, you’ll start with how to create an accurate layout — and how to train yourself to see. Then, follow along as Darrel shows you how to take the skills you learned in “Core Concepts and Exercises” to draw an entire portrait from start to finish.
If you’ve been one of the many folks asking for these tutorials, you know how long we have all been waiting to get this one completed. It’s finally here… After many, many months of production, I’m thrilled to announce, that my How to Draw a Portrait series is finally finished.
Drawing is for everyone. It just takes practice! Exercise your drawing skills and become better at seeing and capturing the world around you with Von Glitschka's 5-day drawing challenges. This installment asks you to reconsider the fascinating subjects Mother Nature provides and reinterpret them using your own imagination and a pen, pencil, or stylus.
Von will assign a drawing challenge for each day.
In this phase we will be exploring one of the most important aspects of figure drawing, anatomy. We will be taking an in depth look at the arms and legs, starting with the skeleton and working our way up to the surface morphology. Along the way we will be examining the form and functionality of individual muscles, bones, and joints. Beyond that I will also be covering how I use my anatomical knowledge, not only to better understand what I am seeing, but also to clarify and improve my drawings. Anatomy is a subject that any aspiring figurative artist should cycle through once a year in their studies. It is my privilege to be your guide through what I am sure is the first cycle for many of you.
