In this course, we’ll dissect the process for creating Quick Time Event driven animations in Maya. After exploring the fundamental needs of basic character locomotion and interaction, we’ll prepare and export our animations to Unreal 4. Within UE4 we’ll set up a playable environment where the characters will move from player control to executing QTE driven animations based on player input following on screen button notifications. Upon finishing this two volume series you’ll have a better understanding of the Maya to UE4 animation process, Blueprints, Events and Matinee, pHAT and setting up keyframe to ragdoll execution.

In this series, we jump into creating textures in Zbrush using polypainting. We’ll examine the mesh and review references for the model and then we’ll do a small exploration into matcaps and colours. We’ll then begin to layer in a foundational skin tone before using the spray brush with an alpha to help create the imperfections usually found in skin. We’ll use cavity masking to help us creating some shadowing and then the spray brush again to help give our demon head a five o’clock shadow! We mock up some ideas for eye colouration before finally adding a base colour to the horns to contrast with the skin of the demon!

For this course, we explore Dynamesh sculpting in ZBrush and we're continuing our cosmic entity series by working on Tsathoggua, one of the Old Gods and rival of Cthulhu. We'll be delving into dyamesh by first adding basic foundational shapes, and then expanding on those foundations to further create the warty details that best fit this frog-like creature. We'll then use a combination of alphas, layers and several different brushes to achieve all the final details that make up the swampish visage that is none other than Tsathoggua!
