"Low-Life" is the third studio album by English rock band New Order. Released in May 1985 by Factory Records, "Low-Life" is considered to be among New Order's strongest work, displaying the moment at which the band completed its transformation from post-punk hold-overs to dance rockers. The album shows New Order's increased incorporation of synthesizers and samplers, while still preserving the rock elements of their earlier work. The original Factory release (Japan and UK) CD versions of this album are mastered with pre-emphasis. The songs on this album formed the basis of the band's live concert video, Pumped Full of Drugs, filmed in Tokyo shortly before the album's release.

After the tragic suicide of Joy Division's Ian Curtis, the band restructured. Guitarist Bernard Sumner, whose gift for combining the melodic with the hypnotic had been the band's cornerstone, stepped up to the microphone. The resulting debut „Movement“ finds the group taking a brave step away from its unfortunate past. Preserved are Joy Division's dark edges Sumner's guitar attack swerves deftly between funereal repetition and noisy bursts, while bassist Peter Hook continues to explore his instrument's upper registers.

"Power, Corruption & Lies" is the second studio album by English rock band New Order, released in May 1983 on Factory Records. The album features more electronic-based tracks than their previous album Movement, with heavier use of synthesizers. It was included in the top 100 albums of the 1980s lists in both Rolling Stone and Pitchfork Media. The title of the album was chosen by Bernard Sumner from a 1981 conceptual art exhibition in Cologne, Germany. On the opening night of the exhibition the artist Gerhard Richter vandalised the exterior of the Kunsthalle by spray painting the text, "Power, Corruption, and Lies". "

2009 debut album from this band fronted by former New Order/Joy Division guitarist Bernard Sumner. Never Cry Another Tear rings with familiar joys: playing of beautifully observed minimalism and a voice of wonderfully understated north-western soul. But there's also a new voice to be heard, one again from England's north west. Singing alongside Bernard is Jake Evans, a talented musician from Macclesfield. The album also features Phil Cunningham, a man familiar from both Marion and the most recent incarnation of New Order. Perhaps Bad Lieutenant can be seen as a new vehicle from a celebrated manufacturer: previous technology has been incorporated, but the overall appearance is new and it'll take you where you want to go in novel and exhilarating style.

Following France's crushing defeat in June 1940, the Nazis moved forward with plans to reorganize a European continent now largely under Hitler's heel. While Germany's military power would set the agenda, several among the Nazi elite argued that permanent German hegemony required something more: a pan-European cultural empire that would crown Hitler's wartime conquests.
