Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum hard rock heroes, Godsmack are revving up their highly anticipated sixth full-length album, 100hp, for release on August 5th. Once again Godsmack teamed up with producer Dave Fortman (Slipknot, Evanescence) for the album, recording it back home in their new HQ just 30 minutes from the heart of the city. The lead single off the upcoming album, 1000hp bursts out of the gate with the Boston group's signature stomp and newfound thrashed-up "punk" energy. It's a rowdy, rousing, and rough anthem that tells the story of the band's journey from playing tiny clubs to packed arenas worldwide.

Alice in Chains is believed to be the primary influence upon Godsmack. In early interviews, the band admitted they started off as a tribute band to Alice in Chains. Godsmack obtained their name from the Alice in Chains song "God Smack" from the album Dirt. [1] In an interview with MTV upon the death of Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna stated that Staley "was single-handedly the guy that got me to start singing." [2] Other bands cited by Godsmack members as their primary influences typically include Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Black Sabbath.

Recorded at the Golden Hall in the Musikverein Vienna in 2012, this is two of the most important works of Mozart’s ‘middle’ period that Harnoncourt has never recorded with a period-instrument orchestra before. Harnoncourt is well known for his unique interpretation of Mozart and this is reflected by the highly flexible playing and phrasing from the orchestra. This album marks the 60th anniversary of the collaboration between Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Concentus Musicus Wien.
