With Andre Andersen on keyboards, singer Henrik Brockmann, bassist Steen Mogensen, drummer Kenneth Olson and session musicians playing guitar, Royal Hunt was set to record their first album, "Land of Broken Hearts". This was a basic rock set featuring Andre's classically influenced melodies…

Britney Jean is Britney Spears' eighth studio album and was released in late fall 2013. The album has been described by Spears as the most personal record from her catalog yet, and features collaborations with numerous producers including Sia Furler, will.i.am, William Orbit, and Naughty Boy. Spears co-wrote each track on the album, which is a concept album about the loneliness of pop life. Two singles have been released thus far, "Work Bitch" and "Perfume".

Do you know what the common characteristic to all of the following: racing, sky diving and sky jumping? Yes? No? I will tell you, it’s all about speed and yes we are talking about Speed (fucking) Metal, the Thrash kind of real Speed that bands like VENOM and even DRAGONFORCE and I will not get into the debate regarding the difference between Thrash, Speed and Power Metal. SPEEDTRAP are what I would like to call old school Speed Metal, fast, furious, no holds bar, hand molting and head banging…

Orianthi's third studio album, 2013's Heaven in This Hell, finds the virtuoso guitarist and singer moving away from the melodic pop/rock of 2009's Believe and toward a more adult contemporary and modern blues-rock sound. Working with producer and Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart, Orianthi co-wrote all of the songs on Heaven in This Hell. Whereas last time, tracks like, "According to You" and "Bad News" brought to mind a harder rocking take on "Since You've Been Gone"-era Kelly Clarkson, here, cuts like the swampy blues of "Fire" and the Jimi Hendrix-esque "Frozen" play up more of Orianthi's strength as ballsy, guitar slinging rock chick…

On his 2013 release The North Borders, British producer Simon Green (aka Bonobo) continues along the organic-meets-electronic path that his 2010 release Black Sands followed, but this walk takes place as it's turning to dusk, and there are varying degrees of mist and chilliness along the way. Opener "First Fires" with Grey Reverend (singer/songwriter L.D. Brown) sounds like it could be quite warm, but it's entirely autumn-minded sweater music that wistfully wonders what to do with "faded dreams" as Green allows bits of glitchy sunlight to shine through his cloudy synth construction. "Emkay" is the clangs and echoes of a seaside port at night that wonderfully shuffles its way up to a lighthouse tune, then there's majestic songstress Erykah Badu wonderfully vibing ("We don't need no truth/Got plenty/Now it grows on trees") on "Heaven for the Sinner" over Bonobo's deep version of the broken beat. "Towers" suggests sleepy urban buildings in twilight with a vibraphone representing the little bits of life and light that will sparkle through the night, while "Don't Wait" is just before the dawn, as innocent chimes chase away the eerie things that lurk in the darkness.
