This outstanding DVD, recorded live at the Funkhaus, Hannover for a TV broadcast, on December 14, 1972, not only gives us the opportunity to listen to Webster, but far more rarely, to see him in performance, exquisitely backed by the Oscar Peterson Trio featuring the late Danish bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen & Tony Inzalaco, drums.
Webster and Peterson played together many times, and the tenor saxophonist often said that Oscar was his favorite accompanist.

40th Anniversary Heavyweight Vinyl & Hi Res Audio Edition. Here's the edition of Ziggy Stardust everyone has been waiting for since David Bowie executed the character onstage nearly 40 years ago. Originally released through RCA Victor on June 6, 1972, Ziggy Stardust was Bowie’s fifth album, co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott. The album eventually peaked at #5 on the UK Album Chart. Its influence is immeasurable, as it converted legions of fans, becoming the zeitgeist and a major influence on the next generation, particularly to those involved in the punk movement. Famously, Bowie killed Ziggy at his peak at London’s Hammersmith Odeon, on July 3rd, 1973. Pop music was never the same again.

Any project in the works for two decades is bound to generate its fair share of myths and so it is with Neil Young's Archives, a series of a multi-disc box sets chronicling Young's history. Originally envisioned in the late '80s as a Decade II, the project quickly mutated into a monster covering every little corner of Neil's career. With its escalation came delays, so many that it sometimes seemed that the project never really existed; it was just a shared fantasy between Neil and his faithful…

Their first album is rare and came out on a Texas label 'though they hailed from New Port Richey, Florida, and had earlier recorded as The Split Ends. It's basically hard rock with some psychedelic guitar work. Their second album is rather mundane heavy rock.

In Bernardo Bertolucci's art-house classic, Marlon Brando delivers one of his characteristically idiosyncratic performances as Paul, a middle-aged American in "emotional exile" who comes to Paris when his estranged wife commits suicide. Chancing to meet young Frenchwoman Jeanne (Maria Schneider), Paul enters into a sadomasochistic, carnal relationship with her, indirectly attacking the hypocrisy all around him through his raw, outrageous sexual behavior. Paul also hopes to purge himself of his own feelings of guilt, brilliantly (and profanely) articulated in a largely ad-libbed monologue at his wife's coffin. If the sexual content in Last Tango is uncomfortably explicit (once seen, the infamous "butter scene" is never forgotten), the combination of Brando's acting, Bertolucci's direction, Vittorio Storaro's cinematography, and Gato Barbieri's music is unbeatable, creating one of the classic European art movies of the 1970s, albeit one that is not for all viewers.

As the soundtrack to the 1972 Blaxploitation film of the same name, the Trouble Man soundtrack was a more contemporary move for Gaye, following his landmark politically charged album What's Going On.

Beautiful. Brilliant, if not Flawless. It actually doesn't matter at all, because the other CD's that accompany this album, A Man & the Blues, This is Buddy Guy-Live, are exceptionally good. Some real rare Buddy Guy renditions of his classics. One of Guy's best works till date. The Complete Vanguard Recording is a must for every blues enthusiast.
