Marrti Koskenniemi - Il mite civilizzatore delle nazioni. Ascesa e caduta del diritto internazionale 1870-1960
Italian | 2012 | 725 pages | ISBN: 8842094161 | EPUB | 1,2 MB

Following the critical acclaim and enthusiastic response to Heavy Sugar: The Pure Essence of New Orleans R&B, compiler Stuart Colman has dug deep into the city’s unique recording legacy to bring about a sumptuous second helping. In addition to the requisite sourcings, the net has been cast wider still in order to focus on material gleaned from such picayune outlets as Rustone, Pontchartrain, Athens, Winner and Spinett. There is a very good reason for this.

On Broadway, Right Now!, Mel Tormé and Margaret Whiting perform songs from the 1960 Broadway shows "Do Re Mi", "Wildcat", "Camelot", and "Irma La Douce". The results range from jazzy ("All You Need Is A Quarter") to zany ("What's New At The Zoo?") to staggeringly beautiful ("Far Away From Home/Angelina"). The 2010 reissue is fleshed out with solo recordings of other Broadway tunes, recorded at other sessions in 1959 and 1960.

Arthur, one of Britain's angry young men of the 1960s, is a hardworking factory worker who slaves all week at his mindless job for his modest wages. Come Saturday night, he's off to the pub for a loud and rowdy beer session. With him is Brenda, his girlfriend of the moment. Married to a fellow worker, she is nonetheless captivated by his rugged good looks and his devil-may-care attitude. Soon a new love interest Doreen enters and a week later, Brenda announces she's pregnant. She tells Arthur she needs money for an abortion, and Arthur promises to pay for it. By this time, his relationship with Doreen has ripened and Brenda, hearing of it, confronts him. He denies everything, but it's obvious that their affair is all but over.
