On July 1st, 2011, Montreux hosted the reunion of two master guitarists, Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin, with their Invitation To Illumination concert. Both musicians have been regulars at Montreux across the years but this was the first time they headlined their own concert together. The show features most of the tracks from their classic 1973 album Love Devotion Surrender mixed in with a wealth of other material. The evening was a showcase of supreme musical virtuosity and spirituality and typified the approach of these two great artists. It is certainly a performance not to be missed.

ONE OF THOSE HIDDEN PROG GEMS!!
I sometimes wonder how would sound the music of classical masters such as BACH or BEETHOVEN would they be living nowadays with our modern technology! I think TRIUMVIRAT would be the closest thing BACH for example would come up with…

Genre: Neo-Progressive | Label: EMI 1C 064-07 715 | German Pressing | Release: 1983

One of the few Neo Prog albums I really like. It clearly reminds of Genesis (Peter Gabriel's era of course), but it's not a copy, it's more of a "continuation" of what has been done in the previous decade. In my opinion one of the best albums of the '80s.

Uriah Heep's second album, it has an unique style that doesn't quite fit well in the category of Heavy-Prog….
