Esoteric Recordings are proud to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1968 debut album by THE MOVE, "Move. Of all of the groups to emerge in Britain in the latter half of the 1960s, THE MOVE was arguably one of the finest. A powerful act on stage, the group were blessed with one of the most imaginative songwriters of his generation in Roy Wood and a fine vocalist in Carl Wayne, complemented by Bev Bevan (drums), Trevor Burton (guitar) and Ace Kefford (bass). Released in the UK in April 1968, "Move followed on from the international success the band had achieved with the classic singles Night of Fear, I Can Hear The Grass Grow, Flowers In the Rain and Fire Brigade. Their first album, "Move, demonstrated the imaginative diversity of the band and saw them break new ground creatively.
For Crystal Silence, the first of several partnerships between Chick Corea and vibraphonist Gary Burton in the 1970s, the two musicians selected an interesting array of material. The compositions on this record are all modern ones, either by Steve Swallow, Mike Gibbs, or Corea himself. It is a mostly down-tempo affair, which allows each player to stretch out and play highly melodic solos over the often difficult changes. In keeping with most ECM releases, there is a distinct presence of European elements to the improvisations. There are few overt blues or bebop phrases, Corea and Burton opting instead for modern melodies to fuel their improvisations. Burton has managed to internalize the Spanish and modal implications of Corea's tunes with little difficulty, and solos with joyful ease through such tracks as "Seсor Mouse."

Shorter's one of those players who was already great at the start – an amazing tenorist, both on his own and with the groups of Art Blakey and Miles Davis – yet by the time of this record, he'd absorbed a huge amount of influences from Brazilian music, modal jazz, the spiritual underground, and even the free European scene – all of which come to play on the long, complex tunes on the set!

Fille du célèbre batteur et percussionniste Brice Wassy, (Salif Keita, Manu Dibango…), Charlotte, bercée par les rythmes traditionnels du Cameroun et d’ailleurs, s’approprie, partage et sublime ce superbe héritage. Se posant peu de questions, elle laisse plutôt jaillir les rythmes et mélodies qui grondent en elle, faisant fusionner les sons ethniques et les sons Jazz.
