Back in the 1970s Hawkwind set the template for powerhouse Spacerock and now Litmus have brought it up to date for the 21st century. Not a tribute band as such, but at times sailing dangerously close with material that would not have sounded out of place at a Lemmy-era Hawkwind gig - a heady cocktail of piledriver riffs that splatter your senses to the four winds, a cornucopia of cosmic noise to enhance the 'trip' into other worlds, and searing lead guitar runs the Captain can only dream of. A veritable sonic attack, that has appeared at Hawkfests and often gigged with Space Ritual in a mind-bending audio-visual extravaganza. Overall, Litmus is an excellent example of classic Spacerock and an essential purchase for all lovers of the genre.

German band Seven Steps To The Green Door was formed in 2004 by keyboardist and saxophonist Marek Arnold (Toxic Smile, UPF, Flaming Row, Cyril) and drummer Ulf Reinhardt. They released their debut album "The Puzzle" in 2006, a production that saw them awarded the 1st prize in two different categories at the German Rock and Pop Awards.
Their second album "Step in 2 My World" was released in 2008, a production where the band explored more in depth the use of poly-rhythmic sounds, complex vocal harmonies and jazz-oriented instrument details in their compositions, but also an album with room for compelling compositions with more of a ballad-oriented expression…

During summer 2001, the band travelled to Germany to record their debut studio album, "The Window Purpose" (2001) by which time, guitarist Landegren had left the band, to be replaced by Per Per Broddesson, while second bassist Thomas Jansson was later added to free Stefan Zell up for some of the vocal passages…

Brother Ape is a very fine act consisting of four very talented as well as skilled musicians. Stefan Damicolas (vocals, guitars), who is writing most of the material with all tracks arranged together with the rest of the band, Peter Dahlstrom (vocals, bass, keyboards), Gunnar Maxén (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Max Bergman (drums, percussion). Musically their sound is a unique blend of progressive rock and fusion. At times chord changes are somewhat in the vein of 70's fusion bands such as Weather Report or Brand X, but performed with quite heavy, but also kind of sophisticated guitars rather than 70's keyboard sounds. They've also got one foot in the more traditional progressive rock style with Saga, Yes, Rush and maybe also some A.C.T influences with the end result creating an original yet accessible sound of their own. Dashes of Zappa's rockier style can also be found in their music.

Basically, what you see is what you get: all of the recordings Stan Getz did for the Norgran and Clef between December of 1952 and January of 1955. Most of this material has been issued several times – at least – by numerous labels legally and illegally. What makes the Hip-O Select set the definitive issue is, besides proper licensing, that all of these cuts, the 10" albums – Stan Getz Plays, The Artistry of Stan Getz, all three Interpretations volumes, and Stan Getz & the Cool Sounds – along with all the single and EP releases for a total of 45 sides – three of them previously unreleased – and a pair of studio cuts that appeared on the otherwise live Stan Getz at the Shrine appear in chronological order.

FreddeGredde aka Fredrik Larsson is a swedish band (musician) who release the debut album in 2011 named "Thirteen Eight". Well, a very nice surprise this album, crossover prog bordering in places with prog metal, with emphasis on vocal parts but aswell the instrumental section are very well played and written. Fredrik Larsson done almost everything here, from composing the entire music, he playing here besides guitar, keyboards , bass the vocal duties are provided by him, only the helping hand is coming from drums department offered by David Schlein. Long album, little over 70 min, with pieces from 3 to 15 min, elaborated instrumental parts, clean good vocals, nice interludes between keyboards and guitars, nice bass lines…

Ef was formed in 2003 and made a strong debut in the post rock scene with their debut album "Give Me Beauty… Or Give Me Death!" (2006). Their first embrace - filled with emotions, explosions and energy that got highly appreciated by media and fans worldwide. This might be the album that put Swedish post rock music on the map and features the track "Hello Scotland" that was played on television, featured on compilations and later on was remixed by some of the worlds greatest artists like Isan (UK-Morr music), Stafrænn Hákon (IS-Resonant) and Uzi & Ari (US)…
